Connection to Montessori principles

Our practices are deeply rooted in the Montessori philosophy which emphasise the respect for the children, the prepared environment, self-directed and hands on learning.

We respect the Montessori philosophy throughout our education and are committed to a learning environment that follows authentic Montessori practices. We also incorporate other theoretical frameworks that inform our approach to early education.

  • Slow pedagogy: Mindful learning that prioritises experiences that allow children to have a deeper engagement with the world and exploring depth over breadth.
  • Interconnectivity: Learning is interconnected, through experiences that integrate multiple domains for a holistic approach. Relationships and connections are a priority.
  • Importance of music and art: Exposure to music and art are essential in creative expression and its many cognitive benefits such as memory improvement, spatial reasoning and critical thinking.
  • Positive Discipline: As part of mutual respect and understanding, positive discipline techniques such as redirection and guidance support self-regulation skills and positive choices.
  • Theory based practices: Including social constructivism and cognitive development to understand the power of social interactions and experiences and the stages of development for individual learning.
  • Circle of Security: emotional security and regulations build strong relationships with children and a secure base for learning.
