Montessori and transitioning to school

Through the philosophy of Montessori children can gain a joy for learning and independence. This leads to self-motivation and confidence to explore any type of learning. It is through the focus areas of a Montessori philosophy that children grow in self-esteem, social skills, education, creativity, critical thinking and learning.

It is through practical life, sensorial, language, mathematics and cultural areas that children develop the skills, knowledge, and dispositions necessary for success in school and beyond.

Our Program Includes

- Connections with schools - Building relationships and visiting school environments. Collaboration with school teachers and familiarising children with the school routine.

Community inclusion: Engaging with the broader community and promoting social awareness.

Education: Developing foundation skills through play, mathematics, literacy, independence and self-directed learning. Celebrating critical thinking, problem solving and creativity.

Social learning: Promoting social skills, empathy and conflict resolution, encouraging teamwork, friendship, emotional intelligence and self-awareness.

Learning environment: Fostering a sense of responsibility and ownership in learning and providing a prepared environment that stimulates aspects of a school environment.

By incorporating these elements, our Montessori program provides a solid foundation for a successful transition to school.

Please explore our resource library for more information about the Montessori approach. If you have any other questions, we are happy for you to reach out to us and talk more about how we support children in their transition to school.
